One can always dream...

We want Disney to make a Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers DVD now!

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers now available on DVD in North America!
November 8, 2005 a DVD box with three discs was released in USA and Canada (encoded for DVD region 1). If you live in North America, go buy it and show your support!

Well, actually we want Disney to put out the full series on DVD, but it's always the first step that's the hardest.

Some of the 65 episodes were once made available on VHS, but those tapes are long gone from the stores, leaving us with no legal way to obtain our favorite cartoon show for viewing at home. The advent of the DVD makes it possible to issue old material once again, this time on a media that bring the consumer better picture and sound, and at the same time is cheaper to produce. Other entertainment companies have already jumped on the train, most notably is Twentieth Century Fox's release of the Simpsons.

Why Disney should do it

In a time when Disney's profits are staggering, the DVD-release of cartoons such as Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers could be a way to raise the profits. The company has already produced the episodes, and fully owns them, which means that a new release would be a low-cost enterprise.

Add to this the demographic fact that many of those who first watched the show in 1989-91 now are adults or late teens - age groups that are perceived to have a high degree of purchasing power - and there is a high possibility of a good return on the money invested by Disney in the project.

What you can do

Put one of these buttons on your site, link it to this page, and notify me about it. I will then add a link to the page in question. Or just link to this page with an ordinary text link, if you don't want extra pics on your site. If you do use a button, copy it and put it somewhere on your own site. Don't link the image from my site.

Write them a letter. Unfortunately Disney's policies makes it hard to be heard by mailing them directly, but of course you should never dispair. Someday one of those letters may be the one that breaks the wall of ignorance. Go to Disney.com for up-to-date addresses.
